Wyggeston Trail

Perfoliate bellwort.
Here are some lovelies from the Wyggeston Trail at Moraine State Park. This trail is more than a little confusing, because according to the park's website, "The trail can be hiked either as a 1.5-mile loop, or a three-mile or 4.6-mile excursion." Unfortunately how to find the route of your choice takes a bit of deduction, since the trails are not signed.
We wanted the 1.5 mile loop, and after a while, I felt it was clear we'd chosen the correct path because my sense of direction told me we were looping back. Sadly my son continued to be highly skeptical until we were finally in sight of the parking area...  Frustratingly, the website also says "the trail takes you into a remote, undeveloped section of the park .... by an old house foundation, stone fences, and a historic oil central powerhouse", without indicating which of the three trail permutations will take you there. I am here to tell you that there are no cool ruins on the Wyggeston Trail 1.5 mile loop. But it is very, very beautiful, peaceful and solitary, so we thoroughly enjoyed it.
