Kinzua Bridge

Pennsylvania has some amazing state parks! Kinzua Bridge State Park is truly spectacular. The Kinzua railroad viaduct stood for 103 years, and was both the highest and longest railroad bridge in the world. It had been disused for some time when it was destroyed by a tornado in 2003. The ruins are now open to visitors.
The section of the bridge that still stands is now a skywalk, and a short but steep trail leads down to the bottom of the valley where the ruins can be seen up close. Interesting exhibits in the visitor center were a pleasant surprise. This year, work is underway to extend the Kinzua Valley Trail to the park, to create a 21 mile scenic hiking trail.
At the end of the skywalk is a  straight down.
Harris' checkerspot caterpillar.
Oxeye daisy.
Forget-me-not.
White clover.
Buttercup.
This may be the "Cousin It" of the insect world, a flannel moth caterpillar.
Goldenrod gall.
Multiflora rose.
A spittlebug nymph is hiding in there.
