Raccoon Creek (Week 10)

Tiger swallowtail on Dame's rocket.
We couldn't linger long this week at Raccoon Creek State Park Wildflower Reserve because rain was coming that afternoon of May 29. The periodical cicadas were beginning to sing, but they went suddenly silent. Maybe this was because the sky got quite dark? As we drove away, the deluge  began. We had a lucky escape! But not before we had time to admire another patch of fire pink wildflowers that had burst into bloom.
